Family Ties

Our summers are usually a time to meander from place to place at our leisure. Not this year. While we try to avoid committing to specific dates, this summer we had to be at a wedding on September 20th. Then as time progressed, we ended up with seven more appointments!

When we see folks for the 2nd+ times, we often forget to take photos as we have some already. The photos here are from our archive and in no way match the date of these current events. We present this travelogue to fill your Inbox to let you know we are the still here. They document our travels, but probably won't tickle your fancy!

May: Casa Grande to Bradley, California

1. Right-front blow out in the first hour. Coach-Net.com to the rescue. No damage beyond the tire.
2. Dry camp at Tom Well's Shell mid way to California.
3. Two days at Catalina Spa RV Resort, Desert Hot Springs, CA. Hottest pool and spa in the country!
4. River Run RV Park, Bakersfield, then to San Luis Obispo's North County.
5. Visit with our oldest son John.
6. Lunch with long time friend Leslie.
7. Birthday party for daughter Melissa at her 95 acre ranch.
8. Gathering at Tony/Lisa's; close church friends since 1982.

June: North County, California

1. Ten years ago, we put a Euro chair in place of our table which we rarely used.
Today, we put back our table in place of the Euro chair which we rarely used!
2. Dinner with Leslie at her beautiful home in Templeton.
3. Dinner with Brad/Janet, more long time church friends.
4. Built a pergola in front of our RV site at Mario/Melissa's ranch.
5. Father's day celebration at Atascadero Lake Park.
6. Sister Donnalee/Don visit us at the ranch.
7. Daughter Emily/Chad and family visit the ranch.
8. Celebrate long time friend Wally's 70th birthday.

July: Butte County, California to Oregon and back to Butte

1. Head to Emily/Chad's in Butte County and spend a week parked at their RV site on their acreage.
2. Visit close friend Rosemary who sold us our Palm Creek park model.
3. Turtle Rock RV in Oregon has a private spa right at our secluded site.
4. Brookings Oregon Elks.
5. Florence Oregon Elks.
6. Elite RV / Cummins Care for our annual RV service.
7. Seven Feather RV Resort, Canyonville, Oregon.
8. Back to Butte County, dinner with Pete's long time friend Bill.

August: Woodland, California back to Atascadero Elks

1. Woodland, California Elks to celebrate Pete's sister Donnalee's 80th birthday.
2. Santa Rosa, California to visit Gordon/Karen, our long time RV travel buddies.
3. Gilroy Garlic RV, Gilroy, California, heading back to North County.
4. Ellen leaves to celebrate Uncle Ron's 95th birthday. Pete is on his own!
5. Lunch with Henry, who this year again won Pete's Ex-Employee of the year award.
6. Pete has dinner with Brad/Janet and plays Swoop!
7. Pete has dinner with son John and grandchildren.
8. Pete and John talk a 5-hour road trip to Bakersfield, whee!

Uncle Ron's 95th Birthday: Casa Grande to Bradley, California

Ellen flies with sisters Janice and Carla to Georgia.

Uncle Ron turned 95 and is the surviving patriarch of the Horn Family. Family members came from all over the USA to celebrate with Ron. Joining him at church, they tripled the size of the congregation! Ron, you are a blessing to all of us and it was a joy to bless you back.
