Week 266 - R & R after R & R - 09-18-2011

R &R

(Rest & Relaxation)

after R & R

(Removing & Replacing our engine):

Now that our engine difficulties are over, we settled in to travel again and visit friends in Kansas and Colorado. Ellen took this time of relaxation to again try to persuade Pete that she should get a dog. Pete's answer has always been, "when H--- freezes over!". Pete, being the caring husband that he is, took this under consideration and bought her a dog.

Dog key fob that is!

Ellen loved the fob and could be seen caressing and speaking softly to it. But she wanted more. So Pete got her some playing cards.

Now, every time we play cards, she can be touchy-feely with her doggy. Still, she yearned for more. So, a book about dogs seemed appropriate.

Pete was proud of himself, until Ellen said "we need a dog on the Mothership". Problem solved!

Doggy on the Mothership not withstanding, this just didn't bring the joy that every RV owner has in a real dog that they can spend money on, clean up after, pay extra at RV parks and be inconvenienced several times a day. Thus, we began shopping for our dog. We have always wanted a big dog, one that could protect us from the bad guys. We fell in love with this pooch, until we determined that she could not fit through the front door.

As we continued our search through Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Colorado and online, we searched for the perfect pup. We realized we found our match when Ellen's Uncle Bob brought her out to us.

While we are not fans of piercing, we just couldn't resist "Women's Best Friend".

So indeed . . . And we have a new traveling companion.

By now you know that almost nothing we wrote, or that you saw, is real. But, truly this is our new doggy. She is a Morkie; a blend of Maltese and Yorkshire Terrier. While not much bigger than a key fob, she is lots more fun to play with. Meet Mandy:

Whelped on July 13, 2011 Mandy is about four pounds.

Like us Mandy enjoys traveling and working on the computer.

But, traveling so much can get the best of you.

Mandy encourages all of her viewers to follow her as she travels throughout the country.

Until she writes again, love, Pete, Ellen & Mandy. Woof!

Mandy protects us from the windshield wipers!
