Photo Journal

Digital cameras come with some sort of "photo album" software. We don't use them as we don't care for the complicated directory scheme that most use or the automatic features. If you are using one and are happy, stick with it. Our method works with any camera so if you switch cameras you won't need to learn a new filing method. We simply store all photos for one week in its own directory. Then by accessing our Daily Diary, we can find photos that relate to that week. Our C drive photo directory looks like this:

Many would choose to file photos under a category or time period, such as New York or Christmas. But what do you do when you have 1 or 2 photos in a category? You either have a directory with few photos or leave them in another directory, perhaps never to be found again. Using the weekly directories you don't have this problem. And it is so quick to download your photos each week into a single weekly directory rather than moving them to separate directories.

Just an idea. If you have questions, click on the email link below.
